The ring-die pellet machine is specialized machinery designed to extrude powdered materials into granular products; it is widely used across industries such as animal feed, fertilizers, biomass energy, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals. Its core components are the ring die and the press rollers. The ring die is a circular mold featuring forming holes, while the press rollers are mounted inside it; working in tandem, they force the material through the die holes, after which a cutter severs the extrudate into uniform pellets.

The ring die is the core component of the equipment; it features a ring-shaped structure with forming holes evenly distributed along its sidewalls. The diameter of these holes determines the size of the finished pellets; common specifications include 5, 6, 7, and 8 mm. The ring die is typically manufactured from corrosion-resistant stainless steel or high-strength, wear-resistant alloy steel, utilizing specialized heat treatment processes.
The pressure rollers are installed inside the ring die, typically in sets of two or three. A wedge-shaped compression zone is formed between the rollers and the inner wall of the ring die, where the material undergoes intense compression and shearing forces. The pressure rollers on Huaqiang pellet mills are manufactured using a manganese-alloy casting process followed by quenching and tempering, ensuring both corrosion resistance and durability.
The cutting knives are mounted on the exterior of the ring die and serve to cut the continuously extruded material strands into pellets of the desired length. Typically, two or three knives are used, evenly spaced around the ring die.
The working principle of the ring die pellet machine can be summarized in three continuous steps: extrusion, forming, and cutting.
Powdered material enters the granulation chamber via the feeding system. Driven by the centrifugal force generated by the high-speed rotation of the ring die, the material is evenly distributed against the inner wall of the die, forming an annular material layer. The Huaqiang dual-die pellet mill integrates a secondary mixing function into the feeding stage; this ensures the material is thoroughly mixed while being fed uniformly.
The ring die is driven by a power source to rotate actively, while the pressure rollers rotate passively, driven by the friction between the ring die and the material. As the material enters the wedge-shaped gap between the ring die and the pressure rollers, it undergoes intense compression and shearing. When the extrusion force becomes sufficient to overcome the friction between the material and the die hole walls, the material is continuously forced into the holes, where it is further compacted and formed into strands.
The material strands continuously extruded from the die holes are cut by a cutter on the exterior of the ring die, resulting in pelletized products of uniform length.

Organic fertilizer granulation: Capable of processing organic materials such as livestock and poultry manure (chicken, pig, cattle, etc.), municipal sludge, domestic waste, sugar mill filter mud, paper mill sludge, distillers' grains, soybean residue, crop stalks, and peat.
Bio-organic fertilizer granulation: Production of bio-organic fertilizer granules by incorporating functional microbial strains into organic materials.
Organic-inorganic compound fertilizer granulation: Granulation by mixing organic materials with powdered NPK chemical fertilizers.
Suitable for producing pelleted feed for various livestock, poultry, and aquatic animals, including pigs, cattle, sheep, rabbits, chickens, ducks, and fish.
Can be used to produce biomass fuel pellets through the compression and molding of agricultural waste materials such as sawdust, rice husks, cotton stalks, and crop straws.
Applications can also extend to powder granulation in sectors such as food processing, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.
In a complete organic fertilizer production line, the ring-die pellet machine typically occupies a central position within the process flow: crushing, mixing, granulating, drying, cooling, screening, and packaging.
Regarding raw material compatibility, the ring-die pellet machine can process various types of fermented organic materials with moisture contents ranging from 20% to 50%; after crushing and batching, the materials can be directly processed into cylindrical or spherical granules. Huaqiang’s dual-die granulator is particularly well-suited for handling complex organic materials characterized by high fiber content and high moisture, effectively overcoming the limitation of traditional single-die granulators regarding their narrow range of compatible raw materials.

The dual-die collaborative granulation system boosts efficiency by 1–3 times compared to traditional single-die equipment while reducing power consumption by over 60%. Raw materials do not require pre-drying, resulting in significant energy savings. Long-term, large-scale operations yield substantial reductions in electricity costs for the enterprise.
Extruded granules are uniform, smooth, and possess optimal hardness, ensuring a low breakage rate during transport. The gentle forming process maximizes the retention of organic matter, NPK nutrients, and essential trace elements. The resulting high-quality organic fertilizer offers superior efficacy, effectively enhancing market competitiveness.
Core components are constructed from corrosion-resistant stainless steel and high-manganese steel; die holes and pressure rollers undergo heat treatment to ensure wear and corrosion resistance. Interchangeable dies accommodate various particle size requirements. The dual-die module features a self-cleaning structure that scrapes off adhering material in real-time, effectively eliminating issues with material sticking or clogging. The dies boast a service life of 6–8 years, and maintenance costs are more than 30% lower than those of traditional equipment.
