The rotary drum granulator is an important equipment on the NPK fertilizer production line, occupying an important position in the field of fertilizer manufacturing with its efficient production capacity and unique granulation method.
The rotary drum granulator is mainly composed of a rotary drum, a transmission device, a feeding system, a spraying system, and a discharging system. A rotary drum is a horizontal cylindrical body, usually made of steel plates rolled and welded together, with a cutting plate inside. The transmission device drives the drum to rotate at a stable speed, and the feeding system evenly feeds the pre treated NPK fertilizer raw materials into the drum.
When the drum starts to rotate, the internal plate will continuously pick up and scatter the material, forming a dynamic fluidized state inside the drum. At the same time, the spraying system sprays adhesive and an appropriate amount of water onto the material. During the rotation of the drum, materials collide and rub against each other, and the binder and moisture promote the gradual aggregation and growth of material particles, forming granular fertilizers. As the particles continue to grow and mature, they are discharged from the discharge end of the drum, completing the granulation process.
The rotary drum granulator has significant advantages. Firstly, high production efficiency. Due to the continuous rotation and large volume of the drum, it can process a large amount of raw materials per unit time, making it suitable for large-scale industrial production. Secondly, the granulation effect is good. By fully flipping and mixing the materials inside the drum, the fertilizer particles produced have a relatively uniform size and moderate strength, which is conducive to the storage and transportation of fertilizers. Thirdly, it has strong adaptability. This granulator can process various NPK fertilizer raw materials with different formulas and properties. Whether it is high viscosity or low viscosity raw materials, good granulation effects can be achieved by adjusting process parameters.
However, there are also some things to pay attention to when using a rotary drum granulator. For example, during the operation of the equipment, certain noise and dust will be generated, and corresponding noise reduction and dust removal equipment needs to be equipped to meet environmental protection requirements. In addition, the energy consumption of rotary drum granulators is relatively high, and it is necessary to control energy consumption reasonably during the production process to reduce production costs. Despite these minor issues, the rotary drum granulator remains one of the preferred equipment for large-scale production of NPK fertilizers due to its efficient production capacity and good granulation performance, playing an important role in ensuring fertilizer supply and promoting agricultural development.
