A half-wet material crusher is a crushing device specifically designed for "semi-wet" materials with a moisture content of 15%-50%. It is widely used in agriculture, environmental protection, and animal husbandry. Its core function is to crush highly viscous, easily agglomerating semi-wet materials into a uniform particle size, addressing the problems of clogging and low efficiency encountered when using ordinary crushers to process such materials. It is not a single machine model, but rather a general term for a class of crushing equipment whose structure is optimized to suit the characteristics of specific materials.

In terms of applicable materials, half-wet material crushers have distinct characteristics: they include agricultural waste such as livestock and poultry manure, silage, distiller's grains, and medicinal residues, as well as environmentally treated materials such as urban sludge and kitchen waste. The common characteristic of these materials is their high moisture content and strong viscosity. Drying and crushing them can lead to excessive energy consumption, while direct crushing can cause the material to stick to the inside of the equipment. When processed by ordinary hammer mill crushers, the material easily wraps around the rotor and clogs the screen. Semi-wet material crushers, through their targeted design, can effectively avoid these problems.
Its working principle mostly employs a "impact + shear + kneading" composite crushing mode. The core structure usually includes a high-speed rotating rotor, wear-resistant hammers, an adjustable crushing chamber gap, and an anti-clogging screen. After the material enters the chamber, it is first crushed by the high-speed hammers, then refined by the shearing action between the hammers and the liner plate, and finally the agglomerates are separated by a kneading device. Materials meeting the required particle size are discharged through the screen, while unqualified materials are recycled and crushed again in the chamber. Some models are also equipped with a drying auxiliary device, which can fine-tune the humidity according to the moisture content of the material, further improving crushing efficiency.
Compared with ordinary crushers, its core advantages lie in its strong anti-clogging ability, wide adaptability, and controllable energy consumption. In practical applications, it is a key pre-processing equipment in organic fertilizer production lines, crushing raw materials such as livestock and poultry manure for subsequent fermentation; it is also an important tool for environmental treatment, crushing urban sludge for subsequent harmless treatment, contributing to resource recycling. With increasing environmental protection requirements, the adaptability and intelligence level of half-wet material crushers are constantly being upgraded to better meet the crushing needs of different scenarios.
